Hrithik's next after Kites

Rakesh Roshan Uncle is planning another movie with his son Hrithik... and no, it’s not a sequel to Krrish.

By the way, I’m not averse to their ideas but I thought producer Roshan would first wrap up Kites and then move on.

Strange world, must say! Now this new film is based on a 1976 novel, Not a Penny Less Not a Penny More written by Jeffery Archer. It’s the story of a man on the verge of bankruptcy.

Now, I don’t mind what Gudduji and son Duggu make out of that lovely story... I hope they don’t have a foreign actress on board. Otherwise, flames will fly... and we will be forced to see a repeat of the Barbara Mori story.

Kites teasers at Cannes | Barbara, Hrithik at Cannes

BIG Pictures is gearing up to market Kites to the international buyers, distributors and media during the upcoming Cannes Film Festival.

To begin with, there will be a news conference and an elite cocktail event at Cannes. The producers have also purchased time slots to screen the Hrithik Roshan, Barbara Mori starrer Kites teaser on two digital screens adjacent to the red carpet entrance of the Palais, for the entire duration of the festival.

This is a regular feature for big-budget Hollywood films , but for the first time ever, an Indian studio will showcase their film publicity on that screen.

Kites stars Hrithik Roshan, Barbara Mori, Kangna Ranaut, Nick Brown and Kabir Bedi in pivotal roles. The film is produced by Rakesh Roshan's Filmkraft and directed by Anurag Basu. Kites is being readied for release in the last quarter of 2009.

Barbara is not coming Back to India

Mexican bombshell Barbara Mori is not coming back to India on Hrithik Roshan's invitation, says father Rakesh. His response follows reports that Hrithik had asked Barbara to return from her homeland, Mexico, after swine flu was detected there.

Media reports also claimed that Rakesh's annoyance over his son's closeness to his Kites co-star - despite rumours of marital trouble - had resulted in a row on the film's sets.

Apparently, Hrithik went against some of Rakesh's instructions while filming. In itself this may not have meant much, but Rakesh was already angry and he let it rip, said the reports.

When HT City called Rakesh, he expressed surprise at these reports. "This is rubbish. Please don't ask me [anything]," he said. "Find those people who talk and report such things.

Hrithik is my son, not any other hero working with me. He is the best son any parent can have." Denying any possibility of Barbara returning now, Rakesh said, "She is not coming back.

Her work is over. She might come around the release for the publicity in October-November."
